Steven Jacobson is a graduate of the Boston University School of Communications. He worked in the film industry for 13 years, produced sponsored films, was a production manager and editor for a New York City documentary film company, did contract work for a Washington, DC film institute and re-cut features for U.S. theatrical distribution, TV syndication and cable. "Working as an editor, it was easy to see how simple it is to change the meaning of an event or of what someone says through editing," says Jacobson. "But I did not fully appreciate the extent to which we are all manipulated and controlled by mass media (even those who work in it) until I was given the results of private medical research investigating mental programming and deprogramming." This led to his leaving the film business to research the mind control issue and the use of hypnotic programming in the mass media, leading to the development of the "Mind Control in America" audio series.

The most successful propaganda uses the arts as a delivery system. Art is a way of seeing and what we see in art defines what we understand to be "reality". Thus reality and perception can be altered by manipulating people's minds through entertainment. The arts are ideal instruments of social engineering because they influence people without their conscious awareness. It is no accident that television networks have "programming departments" and the shows are called "programming". Story-telling is the oldest means of transmitting information about how society works and what's right and wrong. In Orwell's "1984", every room contains a television screen that floods people's minds with a constant flow of information and messages. According to Homer Simpson, the answers to life's problems are on TV. And like the cartoon character, the American people have been programmed to look to the media for their answers as well. The problem is that the media is controlled by corporations that are controlled by the super-rich who have a vested interest in keeping the public bemused and befuddled.

Psychological warfare and economic warfare work together. If the American people understood the dishonest nature of the money system, they would not tolerate it.   People in positions of power are where they are because they know some things that the rest of the people do not know. Secret knowledge is the basis of all power. This is how a ruling class comprised of a relatively small number of people can control, manipulate and govern the masses. The Orwellian world of mind control is a present day reality. It arrived unnoticed because people were conditioned not to notice. The "Mind Control in America" audio series are educational tools to shine light on why there is so much strife, conflict and confusion and why life is becoming more difficult for many Americans.

The solution to the problems we face requires a raising of consciousness that allows people to discern for themselves the difference between what is real and what is illusion. We live in a "virtual reality" where deception has become an integral part of the framework of society.   The audios "Mind Control in America" and "Wake-Up America" illustrate exactly why this is and how it came to be.
